Gift Idea: Fusion Flasks Dual Chambered Hip Flask

Variety is the spice of life, and now it seems there’s a flask for that. Fusion Flasks attempts to address the age-old problem of alcohol indecision by offering folks the ability to travel with two different spirits in the same, dual chambered hip flask. “Hip” flask might be pushing it, though. This is not a flask that fits in any pocket I’ve seen outside of the sturdiest cargo shorts. I’m not even sure I could find room for it in my golf bag. This is a beefy, stainless steel, paperweight of a flask, even empty, but all that heft comes with some impressive features.

First and foremost, the mouthpiece is wide enough to allow for free pour filling without the need for a funnel, which is personally my biggest gripe with most flasks. This works conversely, as well, so pouring the contents into your favorite shot glass or travel mug is a synch. The screw cap is weighty on its own, but an internal magnet to the left of the mouthpiece allows for convenient storage while sipping (although it would be useful for pouring if the magnet was also on the right side).

The defining feature of the Fusion Flask is a specialized mouthpiece with three positions: one to open the right chamber, another to open the left, and a third that allows a mix of both. It’s likely you won’t get a whole lot of use out of the third position, unless you prefer a freshly made, two-ingredient cocktail on your travels, but the ability to carry two different spirits (4 oz. of each) in the same flask is an innovation I’m surprised we haven’t seen already. Better still, each chamber has a window that allows you to easily check fill levels, so you always know how much party you’re packing.

A solid gift idea for anyone who likes to bring their booze along with them (and also has some extra room in their luggage). Chances are your dad could probably use one or two this Father’s Day, but don’t forget to fill it for him!
