Review: Two Roads Road 2 Ruin Zero Non-Alcoholic IPA

Stratford, Connecticut’s Two Roads Brewing Co. takes one of its flagship brews into the NA universe with the launch of Road 2 Ruin Zero, a non-alcoholic IPA. As NA beers go, this one really nails the body. It’s bold and aggressive, almost chewy with a rounded texture that evokes lots of malt. What I didn’t love was the actual flavor. Extremely bitter, almost pungent, it comes across as an extreme example of the west coast IPA style, all hops, leather, greenery, and turned earth. While this style can offer a certain level of refreshment if you’re in the right mood, there’s a certain bluntness to R2R0 that left me wanting more. That said, one thing’s for sure: It absolutely comes across like a standard alcoholic beer.
