Review: 2022 Halter Ranch Grenache Blanc Paso Robles

Review: 2022 Halter Ranch Grenache Blanc Paso Robles

This is a refreshing (and surprising) blend of 92% grenache blanc, 5% picpoul blanc, and 3% viognier. The floral-heavy aromatics of the viognier hit you right away — quite a surprise — leading the wine into notes of clean linens and lavender, Meyer lemon, and a touch of coconut and vanilla. The wine tempers as it approaches the finish, its initially racy notes gently letting you down into a conclusion that is refreshing and a little green, tilting at notes of lemongrass.
